Dental Veneers

Why Veneers?

Veneers can improve all kinds of dental sins, like chips and cracks, discoloration and even crooked teeth. Whitening can only enhance the color & overall glow of a smile. So which one is right for you? If your issue with your smile is in regards to light discoloration, such as the kind you get from smoking or drinking too much coffee, you may want to think about trying out tooth whitening. You can see Dr. Melucci to find out about stronger grade whitening or alternative options. However, if you feel that you need more than brighter teeth and are looking to also gain a straighter, more classic smile, then experts and consumers would agree you should look into Porcelain Veneers. Veneers provide longer lasting results and can improve your smile without the need for whitening or braces in just two visits!

Look at how many aesthetic problems veneers can solve!

Discoloration – Are your teeth stained from too much coffee drinking or a years long smoking tobacco habit? Do you find that you have brown streaks across only a few of your teeth that no amount of tooth brushing or teeth whiteners will fix? Many times we don’t notice tooth stains of this nature until it is too late and permanent damage has been done. Porcelain Veneers can give your smile a bright, natural glow. Misaligned/Crooked Teeth – Braces are not the only alternative for crooked or misaligned teeth. Since having straight teeth is not something we can control without the help of braces or some other form of cosmetic dentistry, Veneers are a perfect alternative to get quick results while obtaining that perfect Kodak smile you’ve always dreamed of having! Gaps in Smile –It’s a startling and depressing moment to realize that you have reached an age where your body has given you all it is going to in regards to the development of your body and that your teeth never closed in together as you hoped. Thankfully, closing gaps in your smile no longer takes 18-24 months of painful braces and follow-up 24-hour retainers. Porcelain Veneers can give you a straight, aligned smile that will match with the rest of your otherwise perfect body! Strengthen teeth - Aging can cause many problems with your teeth, everything from discoloration to thinning and loosening due to bone deterioration. Obviously, regular brushing and flossing will help with these things, but they certainly won’t undo the damage that has already been done. Veneers are extremely thin laminates of ceramic that are bonded to the front of the patients’ tooth not only improve the outward appearance of your teeth but also strengthening them a bit. If weaker teeth are causing you pain, discomfort or even a lack of self-esteem you contact us today to find out more about this process and what it can do for you!

The procedure begins with the preparation of the tooth.

This entails removing the discolored or unsightly portion of the tooth and meticulously shaping the tooth in preparation for the new veneer. Once we have shaped the tooth, we will take an impression. This impression will be sent to our lab where your new restoration will be crafted. While the new veneers are created, we will provide you with a temporary restoration. Our temporary restorations will resemble your natural teeth so that you can continue with your daily life without worrying about a missing or incompatible tooth. During your second visit to the office, we will proceed with the placement of your final restoration. Porcelain veneers are extremely thin laminates of ceramic that are bonded to the front of the tooth to create a new smile. The veneers will be fitted comfortably into the mouth. We will make every effort to ensure that the new tooth feels exactly like one of your natural teeth. The final step in the process will be to bond the new veneers into your mouth, leaving you with a beautifully restored smile. When placing porcelain veneers, we pay close attention to the patients surrounding teeth and design each veneer to complement the overall smile. The result is a beautiful, attractive new smile. If cared for properly, your veneers will last you a long time. We ensure that your new veneers are constructed of the most durable porcelain materials available.
